No Rhyme or Reason

I'm such a terrible blogger. :) I'm in the midst of an extreme time at my job and my mind is totally consumed by the different assignments I have been given as we get ready for our "amazing" Christmas presentation at Roswell Street. That word "amazing" is just a hint of the surprises to come in that 90 minute concert of music.

We have concentrated heavily on advertising this year. We do a little of it normally but not like this. We have two nights of concerts and we'd love to fill the church each night as it will really be a time of worship and joy and beautiful music. My boss decided we'd do 10 flyer campaigns. I'm doing the 9th one tonight with the help of friends at a Brandon Heath concert at our church. Then the 10th is an invitation mail out to 500 families that have been visitors in the past at either these seasonal events or fall festivals or Upward basketball, VBS, etc. YES...we have kept their names and addresses for such a time as this! :) We've invited 30 nursing homes to bring a group of senior adults also. We have contacts with these folks already in that our Sr. Adult Choir visits these homes every 2 weeks throughout the fall and spring. We shall see what happens. I'm praying that this special concert will touch lives and hearts for Jesus.

On personal news, I just had "MOHS" surgery a few weeks ago. That is a skin cancer surgery that is very unique. I had a basal cell cancer near my temple. Because it is at a tender spot and in the hairline they chose to do this. The doctor took what he thought was all of the cancer and immediately took it to a lab while I sat in the chair and waited. He examined it and determined more needed to be done. Back to me and more cutting. Thank the Lord it only took 2 times but they got it all and stitched me up with 12 stitches. Now it is healing nicely and shouldn't be too obvious a scar. When MOHS is done the cancer rarely returns.

We are enjoying the beautiful colors of fall right now. I'm watching the leaves fall like rain as I type this. It has been a gorgeous season. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. I've yet to begin Christmas shopping. Between all this work and the Christmas program and parties at church and work and with family, I'm going to have to get in the "DO IT" mood and spend one day out and get it done. I work best that way actually.

Well, off to see the gbabies and then to work tonight. I love my full life. NO complaining here.

Later...
